Cottage/Area Details: Cosy cottage situated in the quiet hamlet of Carlecotes, north of Langsett and above the River Don, with excellent views of the Peak District moors. Good local pubs, restaurants and teashops.
Close to the Upper Don Trail, part of the Transpennine trail, for walking, horseriding and cycling. Pennine Way walks from nearby Crowden or Saddleworth Moor. Canal towpaths and reservoir paths for shorter walks.
Holmfirth (Summer Wine area) 5 miles. Huddersfield 11 miles. Bretton Sculpture Park 10 miles, Peak District provides good walking country with unspoit towns and villages. Visit Chatsworth House and the spa town of Buxton. Leeds, Bradford, Manchester and Sheffield all about 40 minutes away for choice of theatres, museums and other entertainment.
