It is an ideal base for walking, birdwatching, exploring the beautiful countryside of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and North Lancashire, or just wandering through the historic streets of Kendal and the many pretty villages of Cumbria. Visit nearby Sizergh Castle or Levens Hall with its wonderful topiary garden, and the homes of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth.
